Overview

The Student Placement Portal (SPP) is a web portal with an ambition of becoming Malaysia’s premier meeting place to assist students to choose the most suitable course that best meet their needs. This portal aims to bring together education institutions such as universities and colleges to provide information on their institutions and courses. Students, using the SPP, can then be more informed on the options available and make better decision in course selections. Students will also able to able to apply for courses directly to the institutions through the portal - allowing for prompt review and approval. The fundamental concepts of the SPP are as summarized in the following figure:

The underlining driving force for the establishment of the SPP are the ‘voices’ of today’s students. Other than obtaining only course information, alternatively, students can use the SPP to:

  • gather scholarships details
  • keep up-to-date with the latest educational news and events
  • get in touch with the education institutions
  • participate in a rich community whereby students, teachers, parents can share and exchange ideas
  • ...and many many more...

  • Education institutions would also be able to utilize the portal’s search engine to spot outstanding students to be conferred scholarships.

    Recommending the Right Course

    With the SPP, the course application process is now quick, fast and efficient – all accomplished in four simple steps:



    Step 1: SEARCH (Student Searches for Courses)
    The student searches for a suitable course base on preferences such as interests, location, budget, personality traits or even career road map. The SPP portal will also provide matching of courses base on the student’s qualifications.

    Step 2: APPLY (Student Applies for Course)
    The student applies for a course with simply click of a button. Using the student profile that the student creates when the student first registers with the SPP portal, the application is then transmitted straight to the education institution for approval.

    Step 3: APPROVE (Education Institution Reviews and Approves Application)
    The education institution reviews the student application and approves the application.

    Step 4: CONFIRM (Student is Notified Upon Approval and Confirms)
    Upon approval, the student will be notified by email that his/her course application has been approved. The student then logs in to the portal to confirm his registration.
